Yesterday we had a lots of fun shooting our 1950s fashion inspired photo shoot  for spring/summer with a lovely lady you might recognize from last years photos, face of Queeni-B Boutique actress Jessica Ellerby. Jessica is a pleasure to work with and is such fun on set…not only that but she gives good face. The 1950’s inspired photo shoot included retro playsuits, and 1950s dresses from upcoming addition to the boutique Emma Brigitte London, a new clothing range from best-selling 1040s hat designer Rosa of Rosielee Clothing as well as some lovely vintage clothing due to arrive in spring 2010.  Look our for pictures throughout the next few months but here’s quick a peek!

Lady Gaga is a lace lovely for the cover feature of this month’s 944 magazine. Wrapped head to toe in lace she rocks pink curls with an all-white ensemble from Haus of Gaga, a Mouton Collet Crown and a Alex Noble mask. If this doesn’t inspire you to don some lace and rock a lolita or victoriana look I don’t know what will.

The 1940’s are being inspirational for mainstream fashion once again  as this week the Telegraph supplement Stella Magazine celebrates 40’s outerwear with their ’40s for the Noughties’ 1940’s  fashion inspired photo spread. The shoot features both designer and high-street garments including lots of thick woolen winter coats and a gorgeous tweed pencil-skirt by Next which resembles one I picked up in Asda a few years back. This suggests we might all have a little something deeply buried in our wardrobe or even in the nearest charity shop which we can revive for this seasons hottest look; the 40’s winter ensemble.

If like me, you love 1940’s fashion you’ll love the 40’s photo spread which is in this weeks Fabulous magazine. I am biased of course because some of our lovely goodies are in the shoot! The Fabulous ‘Fashion Sirens’ editorial shoot styled by fashion director Tracey Lea Sayer celebrates ’40s figure-hugging dresses and nipped-in waists and features our 1940’s Inspired Military Hat and 1940’s Inspired Circular Hat With Bows by Rosielee Clothing worn with an amazing 40’s coiffured fringe. We Love it!

I was browsing fashion archives and came across this wonderful photo shoot of our favourite musician come fashion icon Gwen Stefani  featured in a dramatic spread for V magazine in  Spring 2008. As I wasn’t blogging back in Spring I missed the chance to talk about this when It was fresh, regardless I thought it was worthy of belated attention. The shoot which featured Ms Stefani eyebrow-less and cat like as well as bound and gagged has received mixed reviews. Perhaps the looks in the shoot are too much for some but the opinion here is fairly clean cut, we love it! Some of the shots are surely more to my taste than others so I’ve selected my top three for you to gaze at. Lovin’ the harlequin dress with the vertical shoes and about  ready to rush out and find the amazing hat that she sports with it. Granted that few can really work the invisible eyebrows look (I’m yet undecided on whether it really works in Marilyn Manson’s favour),  but drinking milk from the bowl has never looked so good. Note to self: must dig out that black lipstick.
