Queeni-B Boutique have been invited by Land of Pash to ‘Pop-Up’ a shop at their debut Vintage and Retro Fashion Fair at Bermondsey’s Biscuit Factory on London’s Southbank. We are very excited to be amongst a selection of inspiring retro traders and passionate vintage fashionistas where we will be showcasing our collection of retro & vintage inspired clothing at accessories from independent designers and cherry-picked vintage pieces alike. If you pop down you will have the opportunity to try things on before you buy and will be giving special gifts to customers who make purchases on the day. We will be giving out a free entry visa for the event to all our Facebook fans, blog readers & newsletter subscribers a little to closer to the time. There is also rumored celebrity attendance but as it’s all a bit hush-hush we’ll just have to wait and see!

A customer asked me today how they could get hold of the Cry Coco t-shirt by Doghouse, when would we have more in stock? The Doghouse 2009-2010 collection is a limited edition, once it’s gone it’s gone! I don’t anticipate we have any more Doghouse in until the release of their next collection. There were only 50 of each style ever made and each is lovingly hand numbered and signed by the designer which makes them hot property. You may have notice that Queeni-B Boutique has sold out of Cry Coco t-shirt as it’s our bestseller but we popped down to see Manjit of Doghouse recently at Brick Lane’s Sunday (Up)Market in London’s East End and noticed that had one or two remaining but only in men’s sizes. So if you are gagging for the ever illusive Cry Coco or another controversial T-shirt and can rock monochrome, pop down to Up-Market to see what is still available.

Today we have an exciting new range in from London Designer Emma Brigitte London. We spotted Emma at one of our favorite hunting grounds Craftactular just before Christmas where she was showing a selection of beautiful and unusual customized vintage knitwear and some yummy handmade 1950s style dresses. Emma has since been working on some new pieces too; some 1950s inspired playsuits. All of the above are now available at www.queenib.com. Each knitwear piece is an individually customized vintage jumper or cardigan adorned with the Emma Brigitte London signature lace insert which adds a romantic feel to a previously disowned gem. There are two super-cute playsuits with giant bows; one leopard print and one pink and black polka-dot, both are perfect for a budding pin-up or rockabilly girl. Finally but not least of all, we have six 1950s style dresses exclusive to Queeni-B Boutique. And they say men have no sense of style. Tsshh! well actually, this is about a unisex item, but I’m ignoring that minor detail as clearly it looks far better on the male of the species!

Andtie is basically a scarf that doubles up as a neck-tie. a funky little offering from pral&brok. who’d have thought something that sounds so random would actually look so cool? We all like to keep warm in the winter months, and with a little extra smart, it’s sure to impress down the office in any of its fetching colours of black, grey or white.

Alexander McQueen; A Fashion Icon Dies

Alexander McQueen, arguably the worlds most innovative and influential designer of last decade was found dead today in his London home. Undoubtably devastating for anyone who knew him but also a blow the thousands of fashion students, graduates and professionals who were inspired by him every day. It’s a sad notion that we will never again be exposed to McQueen’s own fresh fashion genius.

Viktoria Modesta @ Lismore’s Haiti Fundraiser

Last night was joint Haiti fundraiser come club kid and party scene event organizer Daniel Lismore’s birthday. Outlandish outfits and makeup surprised the bouncers one after the other as they lined up outside Punk club on Soho street in the west end. There were extravagant caberet and drag acts all round in aid of raising money for Haiti, lots of giving good face and best of all a performance from inspirational Model, face of torture garden and musician Viktoria Modesta performed tracks live. No-one was to outdo Daniel’s own ensemble inclusive of Mechano headdress. Checkout photos at the link below…
