Queeni-B Boutique have been invited by Land of Pash to ‘Pop-Up’ a shop at their debut Vintage and Retro Fashion Fair at Bermondsey’s Biscuit Factory on London’s Southbank. We are very excited to be amongst a selection of inspiring retro traders and passionate vintage fashionistas where we will be showcasing our collection of retro & vintage inspired clothing at accessories from independent designers and cherry-picked vintage pieces alike.  If you pop down you will have the opportunity to try things on before you buy and will be giving special gifts to customers who make purchases on the day. We will be giving out a free entry visa for the event to all our Facebook fans, blog readers & newsletter subscribers a little to closer to the time. There is also rumored celebrity attendance but as it’s all a bit hush-hush we’ll just have to wait and see!

Alexander McQueen, arguably the worlds most innovative and influential designer of last decade was found dead today in his London home. Undoubtably devastating for anyone who knew him but also a blow the thousands of fashion students, graduates and professionals who were inspired by him every day. It’s a sad notion that we will never again be exposed to McQueen’s own fresh fashion genius.

Yesterday we had a lots of fun shooting our 1950s fashion inspired photo shoot  for spring/summer with a lovely lady you might recognize from last years photos, face of Queeni-B Boutique actress Jessica Ellerby. Jessica is a pleasure to work with and is such fun on set…not only that but she gives good face. The 1950’s inspired photo shoot included retro playsuits, and 1950s dresses from upcoming addition to the boutique Emma Brigitte London, a new clothing range from best-selling 1040s hat designer Rosa of Rosielee Clothing as well as some lovely vintage clothing due to arrive in spring 2010.  Look our for pictures throughout the next few months but here’s quick a peek!

We are back! Since the site has been back up you might have noticed a little green picture in the corner… In an effort to reduce our carbon footprint and all jazz as well as re-enforce our Ethical Policy we have moved to an ethical web host. Now our website (boutique, blog and all) is officially powered by wind farm! We encourage everyone else to do what you can too, perhaps by reinventing your clothes, buying from ethical designers or using ethical web providers too! Just over a week ago I met with the lovely Corinne of BannBee, East London indie label for vintage inspired handmade underwear. We had a lovely chat over a cut of tea and a Vivienne Westwood shoebox box stashed full of silky smalls. Although we were somewhat distracted by the man at the next table repeatedly mauling Corinne’s faux fur trapper we still managed to get some quite exciting work done. I am now glad to tell you that Corinne’s BannBee label will be joining Queeni-B Boutique.

The collection includes 1950s inspired long-line bra and high-waisted pin-up style panties, paneled silk panties, a leopard print cami with a big bow, and for those of you who are feeling risque in anticipation for Valentine’s Day you will also find a selection of burlesque style pin-up pasties and nipple tassels. The range is handmade from cottons, silks and satins and finished to a high quality with adorable vintage style trims. All will be available to buy from Monday 1st of February.

Alt Fashion gave readers a heads up today about the forthcoming online launch of boudoir lingerie brand Bunnies Forever. The line includes Burlesque and Pin-up style boudoir undies inspired by vintage lingerie and showgirls.
